MISSION PROJECTS
Missionaries of Charity Homes – Korçë and Shkodër
The nuns of Mother Teresa are located throughout Albania and have been here since communism fell in the early 1990’s. Mother Teresa’s name is on many streets and even the main international airport! The Sisters run several children’s homes for abandoned girls in the north of Albania and in Korçë assist with the children and their families’ needs in the poorest areas of the county. It was the wish of Mother Teresa that the Missionaries of Charity do not request funding (nor amounts), so we contribute cash to support their various monetary needs including directly for the girls homes in Shkodër and the local outreach expenses (like medicines, school supplies), for the children in Korçë.

Dom Fation Mullatrthi – Padua Schooling
Father Mullarthi has been sent by the diocese of Shkodrä, Albania for a three-year program to become the country’s Liturgist. Fr Mullarthi has been a priest for almost 2 years, was an assistant priest at the Shkodër Cathedral, and is a native of a small village called Velipoje, near the Adriatic Sea (across from Italy). Albanian priests do not receive salary, and even for his school, Fr Mullarthi must raise his own support for books, transportation, and living expenses at the local parish where he is serving. The diocese only pays for his room, board, and tuition, so the goal is to raise $400 per month (about $4,800 for 2023-24 school year) for his books, clothing, out-of-parish meals, related expenses, and monthly bus pass.

Emanuel Foundation – Korçë
Emanuel Foundation has several works in Korcë for the spread the Gospel. This includes the online Christian Message station, the local radio station which currently is broadcasting encouraging music, and many outreach activities throughout the local villages - both easily and not easily accessible. Our goals are unlimited here!

Kisha Katolike – Korçë
We continue support for the Assumption of Mary Parish in Korçë and the sister parish, St Francis and St Clare of Assisi, in nearby Bilisht. Both parishes are overseen by the Diocese of Agrigento, Sicily, Italy, with two diocesan priests and four Franciscan sister from the Italian island. They work with the those in these two communities, plus 4 other villages: finding farm animals to help support families, catechizing the children, reaching out to the Gypsy communities, and providing education. We are raising money for catechism costs and aid for the local mission work, with a goal of $300 per month.
